JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Be responsible for the design, testing and documentation of wiring harnesses and electrical/electronic systems

Join a market leader in the design and manufacture of automotive accessories and custom designed engineered products. Due to continued growth they are seeking an Electrical / Electronics Engineer to join their collaborative and dynamic team.

Your new team is focused on the development of a driver interface device that controls all vehicle accessories and features. You will be working in the project team responsible for the design, testing and documentation of wiring harnesses and electrical/electronic systems.

The role:
  • Mechanical design and 3D modelling using Solidworks
  • Programming, C and Android based app development
  • Design and development of automotive wiring harnesses
  • Development of low voltage automotive electronic circuits
  • Working with low voltage vehicle control systems including CAN and OBDII
  • Installation of electrical/electronic vehicle accessories
  • Development and execution of lab and field-based testing, experiments and data collection
  • Preparation and review of documentation including drawings, Bill of Materials and PPAP
  • Quality systems, compliance standards, and design processes used within the automotive industry.
About you:
  • Several years of industry experience (automotive preferred)
  • Hands-on technical skills and experience as an electronics / electrical engineer (automotive preferred)
  • First hand experience in the installation of electrical/electronic vehicle accessories
  • Design and drafting skills to effectively communicate development work
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Confident supplier communication and coordination skills
  • Project management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Passion for the automotive industry.
