To support the operation of our substantial assets, we are seeking talented staff to join our HSE team to provide support to our onshore operations.

We are seeking a Technical Safety Engineer to join our ILNG Team on a permanent basis.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Complete in-house technical safety studies as directed which include the following:
  • hazard identification.
  • basic consequence analysis.
  • frequency estimation.
  • technical facilitation of risk assessment workshops and bowtie analysis.
  • Development of elements of the ILNG formal safety assessment.
  • Identify and communicate technical safety support requirements for ILNG operations/technical team.
  • Assist in resolution of technical safety issues associated with emergent risks.
  • Assist ILNG operations/techncial teams with:
  • input to/review of onshore management of change requests,
  • managing effectivenss of SCEs for which Techncial Safety are responsible, for the onshore facilities, and participate in process safety related incident inveistgations and provide consequence assessment support.
  • Support the implementation of management systems to ensure that all technical control measures used to manage MAE risks are:
  • implemented prior to the hazard being present,
  • effective i.e. meet the functional requirements of the associated performance standard,
  • subject to clear change control requirements including the implementation of a risk-based process to establish contingency arrangements where controls are degraded, and
  • consistent with managing MAE risks to ALARP.
  • Review and comment on the onshore safety case and regulatory queries as required, including participation in safety case compliance reviews.
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to safety, quality, integrity, environment, reliability and security across Onshore and Offshore scopes.
Key qualifications, skills and experience required:
  • Tertiary qualifications and professional registration in a relevant engineering discipline eg chemical engineering, mechanical engineering (essential).
  • Experienced in the provision of safety and risk engineering, loss prevention and/or asset protection in the oil and gas industry. Including:
  • Familiar with oil and gas processing technologies.
  • Some facilitation experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong interpersonal skills in influencing and teamwork.
