Due to the continuous success of our Asia Pacific operations, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Drainage Engineer to join our Sydney Transport Infrastructure team.

Working as part of a team you will have the opportunity to undertake drainage design tasks within highways, rail and civil projects. Your knowledge of drainage standards and specifications and other relevant Australian standards will enable you to perform significant tasks.

Main Activities and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

  • Undertake surface water drainage and cross drainage design for roads, rail and civil projects.
  • Understanding of pavement and subsurface drainage design for roads and civil projects.
  • Undertake water quality measures for roads and civil projects.
  • Liaise with drafters for the production of the design drawings.
  • Understanding and application of ARR 2019 guidelines.
  • Assist in developing less experienced engineers in a collaborative team environment
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following experience and qualities:
  • Proven recent Australian experience within road, rail and drainage projects
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or civil/environmental engineering and tertiary qualification
  • 4+ years post graduate experience, ideally within a consultancy environment
  • Good understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling packages used in the design of pavement drainage, cross drainage and flood analysis, ancillary drainage items such as scour protection and water quality control.
  • Proficiency in 12D and DRAINS is highly desirable and experience in packages such as HECRAS, MUSIC, XPRafts, WBMN would advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of TfNSW Digital Engineering requirements, use of Civils 3D dynamo and/or 12D macros and python coding is advantageous
  • Working towards CPEng qualification is derisible, and fully supported by WSP
  • Strong analytical technical report writing skills.
