The Opportunity
Reporting to the Coordinator Development Assessment, the Building Surveyor will support the Coordinator in providing a complete service in relation to the assessment, certification and regulation of development, building, and environmental health.
To be successful in this position, you should possess current accreditation from the NSW Building Professionals Board (or currently enrolled in a course which qualifies for accreditation as a Building Certifier); experience in the assessment of construction certificates, including preparation of reports and correspondence; and knowledge of relevant legislation.

Key accountabilities include
- Provide assistance to the public, developers and other customers on environmental health, building and development matters
- Assess and determine applications for development consent, complying development certificates, construction certificates and building certificates, including Class 2-9 buildings
- Assess compliance with the National Construction Code / Building Code of Australia
- Perform the functions and responsibilities of a Certifying Authority
