About The Role...

We are currently looking to hire a professional and experienced Electronics Engineer to join our engineering department on a permanent full-time basis located in Lonsdale SA. Reporting to the Electronics Manager your role will encompass the provision of electronics design solutions across a varied product portfolio. This will include providing design concepts, product specification, embedded software specification/solutions, PCB layout, test program, and approval. From time to time, you will liaise with local and international electronics manufacturers to ‘productionise’ electronics systems.

About The Person…

We require a degree qualified Electronics Engineering or a similar related engineering discipline with proven experience in high volume consumer electronic circuit design, electronics manufacturing and embedded software. Experience in IoT hardware and software and cloud-based data management, would also be beneficial. Ideally you will have sound technical knowledge to problem solve and apply your skills in a practical hands-on way in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Design electronic circuits, ensuring they meet the requirements of all stakeholders and as per recommended standards. (From high voltage power circuits, inverters etc to low power Micro control circuits).
  • Understand microprocessor embedded software code, written in ‘C’.
  • Support the development (hardware and software) of the Seeley IoT program.
  • CAD software package experience e.g. Altium Designer.
  • Project manage electronic development tasks to ensure on-time completion.
  • Recommend and advise on technical issues relating to electronic products.
  • Develop, run and document test programs to ensure new designs are robust and conform to all operational and life requirements.
  • Document design from initial Operational specification to Manufacturing test specification.
  • Create SOP’s and quality system requirements to contract PCBA manufactures.
  • Review designs in a group format using FMEA process.
  • Experience with EMC design techniques and compliance testing.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and product safety standards (LVD, EMC etc.)
You will need excellent time and project management skills together with effective written and verbal communication skills. Working for a dynamic manufacturing business, flexibility will be very important, as priorities can change rapidly, often to maintain production requirements. Working collectively and collaboratively with production, engineering and service personnel is key. Demonstrated success in a production environment will certainly be an advantage.
