JOB DESCRIPTION

Join a worldwide leading system integrator in ITS, Toll & tunnel management systems design, development and deployment. SICE Pty Ltd utilises the latest technologies (developed in-house) in ITS & Tunnel management and control systems.

The role

SICE is currently looking for an ITS Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. 

This is an exciting opportunity to participate in large scale and challenging projects within the ITS and tunnel sectors.

Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Designing traffic control systems and intelligent transport systems (ITS) for tunnel projects, tenders and bid processes according to the applicable engineering and quality standards.
  • Analysing technical requirements and specifications and contacting subcontractors and suppliers to build technical proposals and estimate projects cost.
  • Liaising with clients and vendors on aspects of the design and construction.
  • Reviewing vendor’s specifications, technical information, datasheets, quotes, etc.
  • Coordinating the requirements for new designs and project schedules with SICE’s Engineering team based in Spain.

Requirements

To be successful, the preferred candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience in similar roles, preferably within the ITS, roads, or tunnels sector
  • Previous experience or knowledge in Project Management is desirable.
  • Strong technical background and good knowledge of various Intelligent Transport Systems, such as Driver Advisory System, Over-height Vehicle Detection, Tunnel Closure System, Vehicle Detection System. CCTV and/or AVIDS.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools: Word, Excel, Visio, etc.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently in an efficient manner
  • Strong communication skills in English. Fluency in Spanish will be also appreciated.
