The role

  • How can cancer patients in Spain get world class treatment plans created for them by doctors in Australia?

How can we support global clinical applications so doctors only need to look at the one system?

  • How do we standardise patient data across the globe to interface with Apple's HealthKit and Fitbit?

You like solving problems, you like systems to connect and work together, you understand flows of data and the processes along with them. In this role you will be building systems to deal with medical data facilitating all aspects of treatment.
You'll be collaborating with a team of integration and software engineers as well as business analysts and clinical SMEs to understand process. The role changes daily - as with any software role the landscape is constantly changing, existing solutions need support, business processes changes and priorities change with them.
We are looking for an individual who thinks outside the box, is passionate about innovation, challenges the status quo, has high energy levels and a great sense of humour.

What you'll do:

  • Specify user/system interface and translate logical designs into physical designs taking account of target environment, performance & security requirements and existing systems
  • Design, code, test, correct & document highly complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications and within organisation architectural principles
  • Use root cause analysis techniques to understand the root cause of production incidents and evolve the platform proactively to avoid repeat issues
  • Ensure stakeholder engagement skills will be second to none and you will be well versed in bringing multiple parts of an organisation together
  • collaborate with the team on creating stories' acceptance criteria, identifying areas of potential risk and ensuring the focus is on business objectives and delivering value
  • Utilise agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered product

Who you are:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an IT related field e.g. IT Computer Science
  • 4+ years' experience in integration and/or programming background, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Experience with enterprise integration platforms/tools
  • Extensive experience in different programming or scripting languages
  • Proficient at database management and SQL
  • Experience with API protocols and schemas - SOAP/REST
  • Demonstrated experience working with business stakeholders to define problems and requirements
  • Strong technology and systems analysis background
  • Able to mentor other team members, lead and own ideas & initiatives
  • Experience working with and facilitating Agile activities (standups, planning, retros) is a bonus
