Cochlear has an exciting opportunity for a System Engineer to join the team at our Global Headquarters in Sydney. As a System Engineer you will play a key role within the End-user Computing team by providing third level engineering services across a range of infrastructure services. The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading the design and development of the Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and PKI infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of ownership and investment in tasks associated with both new and ongoing Active Directory needs within the organisation.
  • Leads efforts in troubleshooting, remediating and optimizing all Active Directory Services related issues, while also working with customer requirements and providing educated recommendations to management.
  • Actively contribute to the strategy and roadmap of the Active Directory Services portfolio within the organization.
  • Technical infrastructure support, ensuring adherence to Cochlear’s IT Standards/ Policies/Procedures for Windows Server operating systems, demonstrating a strong understanding of architecting and configuring Microsoft Windows OS technology including AD Forests, Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Organizational Units
  • Ensure devices and apps are compliant with company security requirements. Ability to generate compliance report on devices and apps.
  • Provides mentor and guidance to IT support functions that interact and interface with AD.
  • Follow relevant quality procedures in order to deliver quality products and services and identify and support the implementation of continuous improvement. Undertake additional quality responsibilities (e.g. audit) when appropriately trained to undertake these responsibilities.

Key Requirements

To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience in your application and at interview:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science/Engineering and/or other IT related discipline.
  • 5+ years Third level support experience.
  • Technical lead and experience in Active Directory deployment, Azure AD and Microsoft Stack.
  • Expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
  • Ability to provide strategic thought and leadership.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Desirable Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of Microsoft Identity and Access Management products such as Azure AD, ADFS, Azure AD Connect, Azure AD Proxy
  • Demonstrable experience with migration to Azure SAAS
  • Demonstrable experience with migration or implementation of Azure SAAS example Azure SSO, Identity protection, conditional Access etc
  • Demonstrable experience of Microsoft Zero Trust.
  • Demonstrable experience of Microsoft PKI
  • Demonstrable Experience with Microsoft Endpoint manager and MDM systems
  • Demonstrable Experience with the support and implementation of Modern Workplace Solutions (Office 365, MS Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online etc)
  • Microsoft Certifications including Microsoft 365 Certified: Microsoft 365 Mobility and Security.
  • Demonstrable Experience in Automation, DevOps, CI/CD.
