About the Opportunity

To support our continued growth, we are searching for a Mechanical Engineer to join the team in our Kewdale office, on a full time fixed term contract basis. The initial placement will be a 3:1 FIFO roster on a full time 6-month contract with the potential for transition to a full time permanent role.

Key Accountabilities

• Understand and deliver upon required project outcomes in terms of technical specifications, budget, safety, quality and program
• Preparation of project management plans, quality & safety documentation
• Subcontractor management, including requests for quotations, bid evaluation, subcontract award and progress monitoring
• Material take offs, procurement and expediting;
• Preparation of Work Packs & ITP’s
• Project change management process
• Compilation and submission of MDR
• Liaise with Site Managers to ensure that all works are undertaken in a timely manner and in accordance with the contract documentation and Valmec quality procedures
• Assist the Project Manager with the collection of information for timely submission of progress claims

• Bachelor of Engineering Mechanical
• 2+ years’ experience within the Gas Industry in a similar role
• Proven experience in Gas Facilities construction
• Familiarisation with AS2885 & B31.3
• Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Developed conceptual, analytical and planning skills
