Devops Engineer / Python Developer

Our Client is an Adelaide based software development company that delivers R&D projects to the defence sector. Due to increased demand for their service they are looking for two DevOps Engineers with Python experience to strengthen their existing team.

Working in a dynamic and flexible environment, you will be responsible for configuration, testing, and commissioning of in-house developed applications, followed by go-live and providing early-life support to customers, as part of the full project lifecycle.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Document site-specific configuration requirements.
  • Create project-specific documentation such as technical & functional specifications.
  • Produce test plans & execute test plans.
  • Build & configure application systems/hardware interfaces to specifications.
  • Report progress/status of project activities to the Project Manager & apply analytics to estimate remaining work to complete project activities.
  • Provide Technical Support (when required) to manage open support items, rectify defects, test fixes and report progress for existing systems that are operational.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in IT or Computer Science with 7+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in implementation, design & configuration of complex software/application systems.
  • Working experience with back-end systems integration & deployment of software.
  • Demonstrated ability to do system testing, document test outcomes, & performing root-cause investigation of test failures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases, writing SQL queries, development of scripts and automation using Powershell, Python and or other tools.
  • Exposure to MS Windows clustering technologies, virtual server configuration, Windows Server configuration, debugging Windows computer systems, software or services.
  • Strong time-management, documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with other engineers, subject matter experts, technical personnel and customers.
