Engineering Manager - System Integration

To provide professional leadership for all technical aspects of railway and facilities procurement, installation, and startup of services. The position will oversee multiple positions of engineers, controls and support functions:

  • Develop and maintain a System Interface Management Plan and/or a System Engineering Plan as applicable to identify system engineering responsibilities and deliverables.
  • Develop appropriate concept of operations and functional analysis documentation to facilitate common understanding of the rail system, as applied to a given project.
  • Establish and maintain a system architecture including identification of all elements of the system
  • Identify, define, control and manage system interfaces, including electrical, mechanical, civil and software, including support to testing and commissioning.
  • Assure the orderly and complete allocation of requirements to all defined system elements to establish an allocated baseline.
  • Develop a Functional Breakdown Structure that allows mapping of the project requirements to the functions.
  • Develop and maintain a System Description Document in accordance with internal processes.
  • Lead system design reviews and provide leadership for subsystem design reviews to ensure that all system level requirements have been met.
  • Manage and coordinating the technical interfaces of all contractors.
  • Support the integration of the rolling stock and systems within the rail infrastructure alongside client.
  • Ensure all construction plans and work adheres to the program schedule requirements.
  • Manage construction acceptance, commissioning, and risks and warranties.
  • Provide technical direction, oversight and guidance of external technical advisers and design consultants.
  • Create and distribute daily or weekly reports on construction progress, budget and schedule alongside Nevada counterpart.
  • Take necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorized disclosure, modification or destruction.

About You

You will thrive in a project delivery environment, enjoy challenges, have the ability to work under your own initiative or as part of a team successfully overcoming challenges and crating infrastructure for tomorrows generations. To be successful you should have:

  • Degree in engineering or an associated discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 15 years’ experience (minimum) in heavy civil, rail or a similar field. Successful high-speed rail or Metro delivery is a plus.
  • Experience in project management role on large, at-risk projects.
  • Successful track-record of successful on-time, on-budget project delivery.
  • Comprehensive understanding of issues affecting railway and related systems construction.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities as well as written and oral presentation and communication skills.
