A top tier international investment bank is looking to hire a team (5-6) Java Engineers to work on a large vendor trading system integration project.

The Company:
Is a Top-Tier International Investment Bank head-quartered in Sydney. The bank has recently embarked on a large scale, bank-wide (5 year) Digital Transformation Initiative.

The four mail pillars of the transformation are:
Simplification = Consolidating similar systems that do the same thing
Automation = eradicating needless manual processes wherever possible
Digitisation = modernising all of their client facing front ends (new responsive technologies)
Data = utilising big data tools for more efficient and effect reporting & analytics

The Area:
The Risk Technology Team sit within the Currencies, Debt Markets and Commodities business areas and are responsible for the delivery of solutions used to calculate Credit, Market, Counterparty, Regulatory and VAR risk associated with the trading of financial instruments within the product areas.

The Project:
Due to ongoing regulatory requirements, the bank have decided to simplify and consolidate a range of peripheral systems which feed into and out of their core clearing and trade settlement platform (a vendor solution). This more unified approach will allow for clearer and more accurate reporting on their positions to the regulator whilst also modernising their overall tech stack.

The Role:
You will be part of a small and nimble Engineering team delivering in and Agile and DevOps fashion. The role will focus on the design and development of new Java/Microservices based solutions which will integrate with the existing 3rd party clearing & settlements platform.

Due to the volume and criticality of data, previous experience working on large-scale, message-based business integration projects is a must.

The Requirements:

• Strong understanding of Java/Software Engineering best practices
• Solid SQL and Database experience
• Experience with message-based business integration
• Shell Scripting experience
• Be a strong team player who demonstrates flexibility and pro-activeness.
• Strong commitment to the delivery of robust solutions in support of critical business functions
