Technical leadership role based in Qantas Loyalty Technology

In your role as Engineering Lead, you will hold responsibility for the Member Identity & Authentication domain for both Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Business Rewards programs, leading a team of engineers to build out applications and services to meet strategic objectives and business demands. Your previous experience will show that you have mastered all the fundamentals of software development, from problem exploration and solution discovery, through system and code design and implementation, to the deployment and maintenance of live code in a production environment.

Through your knowledge and experience, you will lead the team through the design, development and maintenance of digital products and services including the oversight of software delivery.

Beyond your immediate product team, your role will also see you contribute to the overall technical vision and effectiveness of the organisation as a member of the Loyalty Engineering Leadership and Delivery Leadership teams.

You’ll have:

Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Engineering discipline or at least 10 years of general IT experience with a focus on software development

At least 5 years’ hands-on experience as a software engineer in an enterprise with high scaling, availability and performance requirements running on cloud-based infrastructure

Experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and knowledge of federation standards including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect is highly desirable

In-depth skills and experience with teams that use most or all the following: Agile and Lean methodologies; Continuous Delivery/DevOps; and Lean Analytics/data-driven processes

Experience with CI/CD methodologies, processes and tools

Advanced, expert knowledge of core technologies required for the role such as: Javascript and React; Server side programming languages such as Java and Golang; Automated testing tools and libraries; SQL database and other data store variants, eg PostgresQL; Public Cloud Platforms (AWS preferable); and Containerisation technology concepts such as Docker, Kubernetes
