The Opportunity

Fulton Hogan Construction has a rare opportunity to join our Eastern Region team as our Regional Safety Manager for New South Wales. The role will form an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), which together support the delivery of significant, community enhancing infrastructure projects across NSW. Your experience and expertise will be used to advise and support management, supervisors and employees on Health & Safety issues, enabling the development of a proactive and robust safety culture.

Key accountabilities will include

  • Developing and implementing workplace health and safety strategies for the region

  • Creating a positive safety culture across the business aligned with the safety strategy, including influencing safety ownership of all leaders and employees

  • Initiate and administer safety improvement, education and compliance programs for workplaces within the region

  • Proactively drive safety improvements and providing input into safety system start-ups for projects

  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects

  • Maintain comprehensive safety records, manage statutory reporting requirements and monitor safety performance progress

  • Delivering safety training within the business

  • Managing injury and rehabilitation procedures

  • Lead, Champion and Empower our Living Safely principle through the lenses of a “Safety Differently” approach

What you will need

People are at the heart of everything we do, as such we will look to you to lead and empower ‘Living Safely”. In addition you will have;

  • Extensive senior management experience in the development and implementation/delivery of health and safety strategies

  • Experience as a thought leader, influencer and promoter for “Safety Differently”. You will be comfortable to challenge how safety is defined, the role of people and the focus of the business.

  • Proven experience with behavioural change within the safety environment

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar regional or national role within the construction sector

  • Knowledge of Standards, legislation and guidelines

  • Tertiary qualifications
