About the role
This role is a great opportunity for a successful individual to work in dynamic team which is responsible for providing technical assurance and risk advisory function to the Rail Maintenance Division. Reporting to the Specialist Signals Engineer, you will:
- Investigate signalling and systems failures and identify solutions to prevent reoccurrences
- Support the Signals Inspectors to ensure compliance with engineering standard requirements and safety cases
- Review maintenance process and procedures in order to improve safety and asset performance
- Investigate and assess maintenance breakdowns and implement corrective actions
- Analyse operating performance of assets and implement improvement projects to eliminate defects
- Provide safety in design through identifying critical risks and processes to eliminate risk
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in either electrical, electronics, control system and/or mechatronics engineering
- Experience in a rail environment
- Understanding of signalling concepts and principles
- Understanding of configuration management
- Understanding of train control systems
- Experience with route relay interlocking and computer based interlockings
- Experience with level crossing predictors
- Proficient with computer systems and typical software applications
