Site Engineer

About The Project

The Roads and Maritime Services has engaged McConnel Dowell Constructors (Aust.) Pty Ltd as the Contractor for the upgrade of Jane Street, Mulgoa Road and the associated infrastructure on an 800m section of Mulgoa Road and Castlereagh Road, including the reconstruction of the existing railway bridge on Castlereagh Road.

The Works Include

• Widening of Mulgoa Road, Castlereagh Road and High Street
• Design and reconstruction of the existing railway bridge on Castlereagh Road
• Demolition of existing bridge
• Track laying on the new bridge and approaches
• Construction of pumping station and extension of existing basins
  

The site of the works is approximately 58km from Sydney CBD by road. The works are to be constructed adjacent to live traffic within and upon anoperating road with the work area being separated from traffic by barriers suitable for adjacent traffic speeds. The works under the Contract are to be carried out with the least possible disruption to traffic.

About The Role

Key accountabilities include but not limited to:

• Perform technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control functions for all activities at site
• Implement the inspection and test requirements of the Project Execution Plan
• Interpret engineering documents and drawings for field personnel
• Complete punch lists and complete P&ID checks for distribution to functional areas
  
  

About You

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Tertiary qualification in Construction/ Civil Engineering
• Minimum 3 years' experience in the Construction industry with RMS project experience preferred
• Competent in planning and organising work schedules and a demonstrated ability to deliver to timelines
• Strong working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of the same
• Have valid Australian working rights
