We have operations in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne and currently have a Full-time position available within the company for an experienced Draftsperson.

The position is based in Sydney and requires a skilled drafting professional, with a high degree of independence.

You will be responsible for carrying out all drafting duties including but limited to:

· Analyse architects’ concepts, and prepare detailed drawings and technical plans

· Understand and utilize computer-aided design (CAD) system such as AutoCAD and Pytha software to create and store technical plans, maps, charts and drawings electronically

· Use your knowledge of standardized building techniques to draw architectural and structural features of residential and commercial buildings and other structures

· Ensure plans and drawings show site layouts, floor plans, elevations, sections, materials and finishes

· Ensure plans and drawings are accurate and produced promptly

· Prepare building specifications to suit individual clients and tendering purposes

· Liaise with architects, contractors and suppliers on project objectives

· Liaise with architects, contractors and suppliers on building sites to make sure that plans and specifications are followed

· Assist staff with reading and understanding technical plans, maps, charts and drawings

· If necessary, manually produce designs, detailed drawings and documentation

· Train and supervise junior employees

· Ensure company and regulatory Occupational Health and Safety rules are adhered to at all times

Skills and Experience Requirements:

You must have the following:

· Tertiary level qualification in related area such as architecture or engineering, or at least three years’ experience in relevant roles including recent experience

· Able to use computer-aided design (CAD) system

· Ability to read and translate documents such as construction drawings and construction specifications

· Ability to detail and formulate constructions drawings and documents for onsite installation

· Knowledge of construction materials and the ability to attain and implement these materials into the build process inclusive of knowledge of find alternatives that can be used in lieu of these materials

· Annual income range: $65,000 - $120,000 commensurate with industry rates, skills and experience.
