About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and engaged Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer who thrives in an operational environment to be based at our Kwinana Production Facility (KPF). You will be reporting directly to the Technical Superintendent and be responsible for optimising the operation and reliability for our LPG and LNG plants and assets. As an experienced engineer you will share your expertise with the broader engineering, maintenance and production teams to improve plant performance whilst promoting and contributing to a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Ensuring safety remains priority number one.
  • Working closely with operations and maintenance teams to solve plant defects; maximise the reliability of equipment; and assist with the planning, implementation and completion of scheduled and unscheduled shutdown maintenance.
  • Designing and developing instrumentation/electrical systems in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Utilising your Instrument/Electrical expertise to initiate and drive plant, systems and equipment improvements and develop opportunities for future growth.
  • Monitoring compliance of electrical work and equipment in line with statutory requirements for Major Hazard Facilities.
  • Actively providing leadership and keeping open lines of communication in relation to safety, production, cost and improvement ideas.
  • Managing the site’s Safety Instrumented System.


Skills And Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering disciplines coupled with Chartered Engineer status (CPEng) or equivalent.
  • Significant industry post graduate experience in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical production environment.
  • Sound practical and working knowledge of engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of Functional safety applicable to process industry (IEC 61508 / 61511).
  • Knowledge of hazardous area codes and requirements.
  • Experience with DCS systems (familiarity with Emerson DCS systems would be an advantage) and field instrumentation.
  • Highly effective influencer, able to lead change and innovation.
  • Innovative thinker with a focus on continuous improvement.
