Our well-established construction firm is growing its clientele, and we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team of professionals. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in construction project management, be organised, motivated, detail-oriented and driven. Key responsibilities and duties:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be mainly responsible for estimating and monitoring construction costs for all classes of building and types of construction, and your day will consist of:

? Determining construction methods, materials and quality standards and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures.

? studying architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs, and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control.

? Estimates and monitors construction costs from the project feasibility stage, through tender preparation, to the construction period and beyond.

? Prepare master-plan and feasibility budgets.

? Understand contractual terms and conditions.

? Assemble accurate and well-organised estimates and proposals in a timely manner for

stipulated price, design-build and construction/project management formatted projects.

? Provide clear detailed quantity take offs.

? Organise sub-contractor quotations, negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract documents and issue proper documented purchase orders.

? Complete budgeting and scheduling for projects and track same. Monitoring progress, changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, requisition change orders and identify any protentional risks. Prepare evaluation of variations to designs, final account reporting and Cash-flow projects.

? Maintain relationships with sub-contractors and clients. Ensure site personnel are provide with proper documentation related to project.

? Work managing with and deal with concerns of field personnel.

? Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labour costing.

? Formulate cost break down from estimates and for project progress.

? Performing tender contract documents closeout process ensuring the contract file contains all necessary contract documentation, formal acceptance documented and document lessons learned.

Qualifications and Skills:

? 3-5 years experience as quantity surveyor in local constriction field. Experience in working with international firm is a bonus.

? A qualified membership, registration or licensing in an approved Professional Body (eg. AIQS, RICS, CIOB)

? Expertise and accreditation in Quantity Surveying;

? Ability to maximize the use of appropriate software and technology e.g. MS Office; Buildsoft and Cost X.

? Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.

? Impeccable problem-solving skills.

? Relevant tertiary qualifications in the building & construction field.

? Well-developed networks throughout in the industry.

? Outstanding negotiation skills and contract management experience.
