We are currently looking to hire a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Specialist to join the team and play a critical role in supporting the WHS function for our Fulfilment Centre (FC) in Perth. The successful candidate will be an experienced, innovative, hands-on and customer obsessed individual, passionate about WHS and able to identify, coordinate and drive improvements in WHS whilst engaging Operational and other Support Function stakeholders. The successful candidate will report directly to the Site WHS Manager.


  • Assisting the WHS Manager to ensure delivery of Safety performance in line with personal, team and functional goals and objectives, facilitating and/or arranging training programs on critical FC WHS issues
  • Supporting the implementation of WHS programs within site operations
  • Supporting the site with key risk assessment activities
  • Supporting the business to ensure compliance to NSW and Australian WHS legislation
  • Ensuring that WHS systems are kept accurate at all time with completed incident reports and all required supporting documentation, with metrics compiled on key data points to help the WHS Manager prepare/issue regular and ad hoc reports and metric documents
  • Assisting the WHS Manager with the construction of incident prevention programs, contributing to operational requests to improve on site Safety and positively impact accident trends as well as facilitating incident investigation processes
  • Participating in WHS Safety Audits and Inspection programmes
  • Perform observations and audits
  • Coordinating and training of new WHS coordinator team members
  • Proxy for the WHS Manager as required
  • Arranging, facilitating and contributing to site WHS Committee and Safety Steering meetings
  • May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other related activities depending on the business unit and location
  • Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum certificate IV Minimum Cert IV or Diploma in WHS or equivalent qualifications supported with industry experience as an WHS professional (minimum 3 years experience)
  • You’re able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of essential Environment, Health and Safety legislation
  • A qualification in incident investigation and auditing is advantageous
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a related field
  • Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills
  • Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential concerns and conduct job hazard and job analyses
  • Experienced in return to work management
