Apprenticeship – Boat Repair / Boat building.

Fibelite Marine Services PTY Ltd are offering an apprenticeship in the Recreational Boating industry leading to a Certificate 3 Marine Craft Construction.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the highly skilled team of shipwrights at Fibrelite Boats; to develop life-long skills and enjoy future diverse career opportunities.

We repair, maintain, and modify, all types of craft from small sailing boats and large motor yachts, to small commercial craft such as trawlers.

The range of tasks we undertake is immense, not only repairing and maintaining the hull and superstructure of vessels but also repairing and maintaining all the vessels systems. Such as air conditioning, plumbing, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, propulsion, electronic and electrical systems.

An apprenticeship with Fibrelite is an opportunity to gain a diverse range of skills and an in-depth knowledge of boat construction.

We are looking for someone who:

Enjoys making things and figuring out how things work.

Is committed to developing a range of skills and producing high quality work.

Has a commitment to finishing what is undertaken.

Has an ability to listen carefully and follow instructions and processes.

Has an excellent work ethic.

Is very competent at a basic, practical level in mathematics and English – both spoken and written.

Is prepared to attend TAFE for either day or block release

Is prepared to obtain a manual- driver’s license if not holding one.

Is prepared to lean to swim if you cannot already.

Is prepared to undertake random drug and alcohol testing.

Is prepared to obtain a Police Clearance.

Is prepared to work very hard to complete a very demanding, but rewarding, apprenticeship.
