Reporting to the National Operations Manager - Solar, the Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the project delivery of some of ENGIE's most important and iconic commercial and small-utility solar projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Deliver high quality electrical & solar project budgets and designs from project inception to operations and maintenance
- Create compelling designs, estimates and proposals for solar & renewable projects connected to LV and HV networks, including DC designs, cabling, switchgear selection, earthing and lightning protection, backup power systems, generators and transformers
- Build strong external relationships with customers and suppliers
- Provide technical support to sales and project group managers in the review of customer specifications and drawings
- Develop compelling budgets and proposals
- Design high quality solar engineering drawings and calculations
- Perform energy output simulations
- Evaluate and recommend products, suppliers and subcontractors
- Manage technical approvals process
- Perform site inspections and audits
- Collaborate with project managers and installers on construction timelines and quality
- Oversee commissioning and close-out process
- Manage solar Operations & Maintenance contracts
- Participate in technical product and tool development
- Interpret and apply applicable industry standards and other requirements as needed
- Other duties as directed by line manager
The successful candidate will have:
- Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Renewables or Energy Engineering
- Confirmed experience in commercial or utility solar system design
- Experience in LV and HV Electrical Engineering preferred
- Proven ability to take initiative and think critically on commercial, technical and financial aspects of solar projects
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, PVSyst and Helioscope preferred
