About the job

Genvis is a technology startup working with public safety teams to help them keep our communities safe. We are looking for a Lead front end engineer to support the build out of our platform. You will be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team building products that are being used in the fight against COVID-19.

Responsiblities

• Support the build out of our primary platform by leading the front end developer team
• Work closely with product and design ensuring agreed features and roadmaps are delivered to the standard we require -high :)
• Implement and be responsible for features across the stack
• Drive best engineering and test automation practices within and beyond your team
• Get your hands dirty building beautiful, functional UIs that make our customers happy

Who you are

• You are passionate about writing maintanable, efficient front-end code, in a performance critical application. You know your way around browser developer tools, and you like figuring out what makes web applications tick
• Able to work independently, with minimal supervision and in high pressure situations
• You are experienced in working with test automation as an integral part of the software development lifecycle
• An avid reader and constant learner

Required

• Extensive experience working hands on as a front end engineer
• 2+ years experience building mobile Apps
• 2+ years experience with React or Vue frameworks
• Extensive experience with automated testing frameworks
• Experience with CSS frameworks such as SASS, Less, Stylus
• Degree or higher tertiary qualification
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (team is distributed across 3 continents)
• Familiar with agile methodologies
• Experience leading front end teams

Desired

• Backend NodeJS experience
• Use of GraphQL backend APIs
• Experience in 1 or more languages other than Javascript.

Our stack 

• NodeJS / Express microservices backend
• AWS cloud based (Amplify, ALB, Fargate, RDS, SQS, lambda)
• React web front ends, + native apps (flutter based)

Work environment

• Head office in Perth, Devs in Sydney and US. Remote is an option for right candidate however strong preference for Perth or Sydney.
