Remuneration:
Classification AS07, $101,859 to $110,107 per annum
Full-time, working 37.5 hours per week

Role Purpose/Context:

The Technical Engineer is responsible for leading the delivery of specialist work products and services to facilitate the effective technical project components underpinning the implementation of a quality suite of information systems by:

  • Designing and implementing the technical infrastructure that is required to run the various instances of systems.
  • Conducting high level liaison with stakeholders including vendor technology experts to determine critical system and network requirements.
  • Overseeing and directing that a quality testing regime is developed and implemented to ensure that technical requirements are fulfilled, verified and validated.
  • Providing expert technical guidance, advice, leadership and hands on services / activities in relation to the implementation of the suite of systems and the surrounding environment to a team of IT professionals and other project stakeholders
  • Leading the delivery of significant project milestones and objectives.
  • Delivering high level management and practical ground level supervision in a team of specialists providing a range of expert technical services to meet critical project requirements.
  • Developing and implementing effective and innovative policies and procedures that guide and facilitate a quality project implementation process.
  • Product Management approach to support and maintenance of existing infrastructure, both physical and virtual.
Key Selection Criteria:
  • Knowledge of the information architecture currently used in State Government.
  • Proven high level capacity in the design and implementation of network architecture components including switching and routing.
  • Experience in back up technologies with preference to Commvault.
  • Familiarity with leading cloud based environments.
Qualifications:
Desirable – Degree in computer science or equivalent.

Special Conditions:
This is a term vacancy up to June 2022. Some out of hours’ business work and intrastate travel may be required. Engagement in this role may be subject to a satisfactory Department of Human Services background screening check.
