We are seeking an experienced and driven Infrastructure Engineer to join our firm on a permanent full-time basis.

About the role

As the IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will take part in the IT systems design, implementation, support, and monitoring operations, both in Application and Infrastructure. You will have the responsibility for the upkeep, configuration, reliable operation of IT systems and providing operational assistance on an ongoing basis.

The role will require a high degree of independence, problem solving skills, and excellent analytics capability.

This position will ideally suit a person who possesses an in-depth knowledge of IT processes and procedures relating to our technology landscape.

The role incorporates a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Installing, upgrading/updating, deploying the release of new technologies;
  • Designing, implementing, configuring, maintaining, and performing testing of PC/server operating systems and related utilities;
  • Maintain the ongoing reliability, performance, secure systems environment, and support of the infrastructure;
  • Integrate solutions with other applications and platforms based on requirements;
  • Develop scripted solutions and automation;
  • Coordinate changes across multiple systems including routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems, such as backups, patch management, and hot fixes;
  • Report security issues, make recommendations to improve security posture, participate in investigation as needed, and ensure adherence to security requirements; and
  • Perform infrastructure and application duties.

The key determinants of success in this role are:

  • A degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience (desirable);
  • Advanced hands-on knowledge in VMWare, Microsoft Windows Server environment, Citrix platform, Microsoft Exchange and email security gateway management, Office 365 and Veeam;
  • Hands-on knowledge in FortiGate, Palo Alto and Darktrace;
  • A strong work ethic;
  • A hard working, self-reliant engineer who can work independently.
  • Has the capacity to handle pressure effectively;
  • Possess a customer-centric attitude, supported by demonstrated strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical skills; demonstrated ability to respond quickly to change and adapt to shifting priorities;
  • Ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; and
  • Experience in working with a demanding customer base.
