JOB DESCRIPTION

Due to our continuing success, our high performing Transport Business Group in Western Australia has a requirement for Track Design Engineers to join our busy Rail Team, which houses one of the largest rail design teams in Western Australia.

In this role you will complete the technical components for a range of rail projects including:

  • Concept and detailed rail design projects, including plain line and junction designs;
  • Feasibility studies;
  • Strategic planning studies
  • Undertake design checking and approve alignment designs;
  • Support the Senior Engineer in preparing project designs and design documentation

There will be emphasis on the development and delivery of multidisciplinary projects in all rail-based technologies. You will be able to provide technical and design knowledge into projects . You will support senior engineers and the rail management team in developing the rail business for GHD. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of project development, design, construction and maintenance.

Skills

Skills and experience includes rail alignment and infrastructure design, and a broad knowledge of rail systems and the rail industry with experience in the following
  • Experience in the use of Bentley Rail Track and/ or Bentley OpenRail
  • Able to use BRT tools and produce outputs such as alignment plan & profiles, create turnouts and turnout libraries
  • Use of Swept Envelope and passing clearance analysis
  • Junction geometry design
  • Report writing and communication skills
  • Experience of working in a BIM environment (preferable but not essential)
  • Working towards Chartered Professional Engineer (preferred but not essential).
