1st Year Carpentry Apprentice wanted!

This is Full time opportunity with an Immediate start.

Role Description:

Crippen Building has an exciting role for an enthusiastic person who is starting their Carpentry Apprenticeship in 2021. The right applicant will gain exposure to a wide range of construction types from architecturally designed homes and residential renovations, major remedial works, office refurbishments, retail refits and more.

We service Sydney metro, however the majority of our work is focused in the Inner West.

Responsibilities and Duties

Over the course of your Carpentry Apprenticeship your will develop the skills to:

  • Use Carpentry tools and equipment
  • Carry out general demolition of minor building structures
  • Carry out setting out and levelling operations
  • Help plan and organise work
  • Carry out measurements and calculations
  • Work safely at heights
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Carry out excavation
  • Use explosive power tools
  • Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding
  • Carry out concreting to simple forms
  • Install flooring systems and construct wall and ceiling frames
  • Erect roof trusses and construct pitched roofs
  • Install and replace windows and doors
  • Install lining, panelling and molding
  • Erect and dismantle formwork to suspended slabs, columns, beams and walls
  • Erect and dismantle formwork for footings and slabs on ground
  • Assemble partitions
  • Install exterior cladding
  • Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
  • And much more!

Qualifications and Skills

Required Skills:

  • Be passionate about Carpentry, and show a willingness to develop skills and knowledge in this trade
  • The ability to listen and follow instructions and ask for help when necessary
  • Be a team player who understands the importance of teamwork, but can also work individually and show initiative
  • The desire to make a positive contribution by being punctual, interested and adhering to workplace policies and procedures
  • Be well mannered and respectful to your Colleagues and our Clients
  • Act responsibly and safely
  • Provisional Drivers License

Salary: From $16.00 per hour
