Fortescue Metals Group is now consistently producing more than 175-180 million tonnes of iron ore per year and has an exciting future ahead, establishing itself for future growth in a global market through innovation, product diversification and asset development.
Title: Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Work location: Solomon Ex Perth
Roster: 4 days on and 3 days off
Key accountabilities will include:
- Being a safety leader and engage with personnel to drive a Zero Harm culture
- Lead a team of Electrical Engineers with continual improvement projects, creating maintenance strategies, RCA's, capital projects, operational team support and breakdown assistance to electrical maintenance teams
- Ensure adequate team coverage during shutdowns
- Managing team workload and ensuring works are completed safely and on time
- Mentoring and training team to drive technical excellence
- Ensuring team accountability and quality including maintaining accurate drawing database in DAD
- Hands on approach to troubleshooting and team support
- Working closely with Electrical Maintenance Superintendents for continual improvements
- Form part of the call out roster for after-hours support
Qualifications and skills required:
- Minimum 5 years on site fixed plant experience, preferably in iron ore industry
- Previous leadership experience within an engineering team
- Electrical Engineering degree qualification
- Experience with site construction and commissioning of electrical works
- Experience with SAP required
- VSD troubleshooting experience with ABB, WEG and Siemens drives
- Instrumentation experience with VEGA, ABB, Hawk, Siemens
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must hold Australian work rights and a valid driver’s license
