Your Opportunity

We are currently seeking applications from experienced Civil Engineers with experience in design coordination, CPS cost tracking and control. Based in Melbourne, opportunities exist for a candidate with strong Construction Phase Services experience to maximise the CPS teams’ operational efficiencies.

As a Civil Engineer, you will be accountable for:

  • Using established procedures, gather and correlate necessary data and perform detailed or routine engineering duties.
  • Ensuring RFI/DCR/DCN registers are updated daily, report on CPS dashboard weekly.
  • Developing and maintain registers on performance by all design consultants, Proof Engineer and IREA.
  • Assist the Design Manager’s in carrying out design audits for the design packages and the technical information packages.
  • Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Design Director.
  • Read and understand plans, review design documentation to provide constructability review and implement final plans.
  • Providing expertise to develop accurate cost forecasts
  • Verification of claims and variations from all design subcontractors
  • Maintaining and updating of cost spreadsheet.
  • Contribute to maintaining weekly design program reports for Pre-IFC design packages/Hold Cloud Removal and Major Design Changes.
  • Co-ordinate detailed monthly reviews with the zone Design Co-ordinates and compile the design program reports.
  • Report on monthly accruals across the organisation.

Our minimum requirements for these roles are:

  • Master of Civil Engineering (Major in Civil-Structures)
  • Three years of post-graduate experience in the construction or infrastructure industry.
  • Experienced in developing complex reports and dashboards using Power Bi systems – Both front end and back end (DAX) is essential
  • Ability to build and maintain productive internal and external relationships to engage stakeholders and enable effective delivery of construction phase services.
  • Experience in Aconex
  • Contribute to drive performance within the design processes to ensure design documentation is completed on time and fully integrated with Design Manager’s feedback.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering principles in the construction industry.
  • Understanding of Vic Roads Specifications
  • Competent skills with Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivation and drive to achieve value for money results
