JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Work, Health and Safety (WHS) Solicitor (2-5 years') to join our premier Band 1 Employment, Industrial Relations and Safety team in Melbourne.



The national WHS team is highly collaborative and you will work as an integrated part of our national team as well as at a regional and global level. You will work closely with Partners, Counsel and Senior Associates on some of the most interesting WHS work in Australia. You will work under the supervision of pre-eminent WHS Partner Steve Bell, and also have the chance to work with other Partners across the network.



You will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal advice across the spectrum of WHS issues, including working with clients and internal cross practice group referrals on all areas of commercial drafting, regulatory compliance, training, advisory work, incident response and WHS focused litigation. This is an opportunity to work with illustrious clients across a variety of sectors, including: construction, transport, mining, energy, banking and finance, aviation, allied health, manufacturing, charities and the public sector.

To be successful in this role, you will:


  • have demonstrable experience across a range of WHS and employment law matters from a leading top tier, national or international private practice; or an in-house environment;
  • ideally have 2 - 5 years' legal experience, however we are open to considering candidates with more or less experience;
  • be a qualified/admitted legal practitioner in either Australia or New Zealand;
  • have an excellent academic record, strong communication and teamwork skills;
  • have a hunger to learn and develop, and be part of maintaining a market-leading practice.
