Veolia ANZ is currently looking for a highly skilled Project Engineer to join the team in Southbank. You will be working as part of the remediation project team and report into the Technical Projects Manager.
As a Project Engineer you will be managing remediation projects from the start of the process to the execution phase and will be accountable for delivery and commercial performance of the projects. You will be expected to ensure Veolia's projects are delivered in accordance with project objectives, client scope and to meet contractual, health & safety, environmental, legislative and Veolia corporate obligations.
The role will have a particular focus on onsite soil and sludge materials handling and remediation, although recognising that Veolia and the remediation industry is dynamic, you may be required to assist delivery of projects in other fields including water, industrial services and Veolia internal projects.
- What you'll need to be successful in this role:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Environmental Science.,
- Contract management experience in a customer facing role.
- Demonstrated experience delivering in-field projects within the remediation industry.
- Knowledge of EPA regulations and guidelines.
- Strong leadership, verbal and written communication skills
- Practical experience in Quality, Environmental and OH&S Management systems including contractor management in field based or industrial environments.
- Ability to build, foster and maintain positive working relationships with client, team members, colleagues, external suppliers and regulatory bodies.
- Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail.
- Ability to lead teams and create a high performance team culture.
- Ability to assess situations and determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions that are in the best interests of Veolia and our customers.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances
- Driver's licence.

Reporting to the Technical Projects Manager, you'll work closely with the team of engineers as well as various suppliers and contractors. And you'll learn from them, as much as they learn from you.

In addition to project delivery you'll play a key role in measuring and reporting the project outcomes maintaining a robust safety culture and identifying more efficient ways of working that don't compromise safety or quality.
