JOB DESCRIPTION

Naval Group Australia (NGA) is seeking an Equipment Engineer to join the Future Submarine program. The largest and most ambitious defence acquisition program Australia has ever undertaken. Professional challenges don’t come any bigger than this.

Reporting to the Senior Equipment Engineer, this role is broadly responsible for delivering technical documentation to support the procurement team in contracting suppliers. The Equipment Engineer will then be responsible for managing the Supplier’s technical scope during the delivery of the contract, including reviewing design documents, coordinating the delivery, installation, commissioning, qualification and training of the equipment at the Submarine Construction Yard (SCY).


More specifically, the Equipment Engineer will:

  • Ensure technical documentation is aligned with Australian operational, maintenance and safety requirements including relevant statutory regulations and standards.
  • Execute engineering studies and define criteria relevant to equipment, machinery and packages for the SCY.
  • Provide verification and validation (Assurance) for the scope of work delivered by the supplier against the technical documents.

To be successful in this position, the role suits a candidate that is:

  • Degree qualified Engineer with relevant experience in the supply, installation and commissioning of plant and equipment in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Able to develop succinct technical reports and critically review other technical documents.
  • Knowledgeable in industry safety standards and regulations within an industrial/manufacturing environment.
