JOB DESCRIPTION

Naval Group Australia (NGA) is seeking an Equipment Integration Engineer to join the Future Submarine program. The largest and most ambitious defence acquisition program Australia has ever undertaken. Professional challenges don’t come any bigger than this.

Reporting to the Submarine Construction Yard (SCY) Operations Manager, this role is broadly responsible for leading the Australian Operations effort to develop and review the technical specifications for each piece of shipyard equipment.

 

More specifically, the Equipment Integration Engineer will:

  • Work closely with the SCY Procurement, Equipment and Infrastructure teams to identify suppliers, review supply chain capability and lead the operations interest during the assessment and down selection of suppliers.
  • Provide impact analysis against each technical specification, including, but not limited to;
    • The required operational space to safely perform the activity;
    • Required laydown areas for materials in and out; and
    • Spatial requirements.
  • Work with the (Transfer of Technology) ToT training team to provide the training packages for each Critical and Major equipment for future operators as supplied by the equipment suppliers.

To be successful in this position, the role suits a candidate that is:

  • Degree qualified Engineer with relevant experience in the mobilisation of fabrication and outfitting type functional capability within a heavy engineering environment.
  • Proven experience in writing technical specifications for heavy industrial manufacturing equipment and tools.
  • Ability to understand obligations with respect to WHS&E within the workplace.
