We are currently seeking an experienced Development Mine Foreman to provide operational support to the Superintendent - Mine Development in leadind the Mine Development Department tram to safely and efficiently deliver the Mine Plan.
Accountabilities
- Compliance with NSW Mining Regulations, Australian Standards, Glencore Corporate Practice, Code of Conduct and relevant codes.
- Proactively participate in Health, Safety, Training requirements.
- Assist in ensuring the safety of all personnel on shift.
- Assist in maintaining accurate Standard Work Instructions
- Be part of and continuously develop a professional leadership team capable of consistent monitoring and performance management across all Development crews.
- Ensure that cost management is considered for all improvement initiatives, being conscious of the impact of unnecessary expenditure on the business.
- Assist Supervisors and Superintendents with Incident Reporting and Investigation. Make leading safety indicators a focus through inspections and observations.
- Be an effective leader and mentor the Development crews through communication, coaching and training.
- Support the development Superintendent team in ensuring the crews have adequate tooling, are trained, competent and approved for required tasks.
- Assist in strategically forecasting and managing the mining plan, and to have a robust understanding of the mine priorities and schedule.
- Continuous improvement of systems, processes and supervisor support.
- Limit and reduce consumables waste where possible.
- Proactively manage activities to meet Development Priorities.
- Proactively assist the Development Superintendent in managing Supervisor Coaching.
- Support the implementation of systems to ensure compliance within CSA.
- Support Shift Supervisors to identify solutions to safety & production challenges, issues or opportunities within their area of responsibility.
- Identify and drive actions to adapt, change, amend or review strategies or plans which are not meeting expectations in a timeframe that limits negative effect to the business.
- Support the Development Department in achieving timely and consistent KPIs.
- Responsible for providing visible leadership and ensuring compliance to CSA policies, standards and procedures relevant to the Development Dept.
- Responsible for providing direction, support and mentoring to Development Supervisors.
- Responsible for developing a positive culture in line with Glencore values including mentoring and coaching to build employee role competency
- Responsible for managing compliance to the Weekly Development plan.
- Responsible for proactively working with other departmental Foremen to resolve operational misalignment within a shift to maintain compliance to the weekly plan.
- Responsible for the management of incidents on shift.
- Responsible for the appropriate escalation of concerns and/or issues to appropriate functional leads
- Responsible for the optimisation of resources and continuous improvement to minimise cost and waste
- Diverse knowledge and experience within the underground metalliferous mining environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of development mining operations
- Proven Senior leadership experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, safety systems and legislative requirements for underground mining
- Experience supervising and developing large work teams to deliver business outcomes
- Basic level Microsoft Office Suite.
