JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Oversee the development of test strategies and systems.
  • Guide internal and external stakeholders (including all customer levels – OEM, dealer, and fleet) to promptly identify and resolve engineering / technical / warranty issues and implement countermeasure to avoid reoccurrences.
  • Lead and motivate the engineering and technical support team to achieve personal and business objectives.
  • Communicate with OEM and relevant engine companies engineering departments on correct product usage and current and future projects.
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate the installation of products, ensuring compliance and certification with all associated requirements.
  • Assist with the design of Eaton product into OEM’s vehicles, which can involve input to chassis layout and component design and detailing of parts for local adaptation.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and stay abreast of technological advancements and engineering trends for truck component products and advise management of any changes in competition or related matters including recommended products or product line revisions.

Qualifications - External

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • High energy with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Proven track record of implementing innovative customer focussed solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience liaising with senior management from both within and outside of the company.
  • Sound knowledge of commercial vehicle mechanical and electronic architecture and how these components and systems interact and integrate with each other.
  • Ability to plan, organise and build effective teams and motivate them.
  • Experience planning, costing and forecasting.
  • Some customer sales & service experience as well as knowledge of the Australian heavy commercial vehicle market and local operating conditions are distinct advantages.
