Senior Integration Solutions Architect
Melbourne, Australia
Leonardo is looking for a Senior Integration Solutions Architect to lead our diverse team. Working with our internal and external stakeholders, this role contributes towards aligning Leonardo’s technology approach with the company’s strategic objectives, promoting shared applications and infrastructure to manage costs, and managing risks related to IT and information assets.

About the Role
The role will work closely with our Enterprise Architects and Project teams throughout the project lifecycle in providing the overall technical lead that ensures the approved solution architectures are implemented, and overall integrity of the solution designs including consistency across architecture domains, are assured. This role is responsible for providing timely accurate architectural guidance to Leonardo’s stakeholders, and deliver solution designs in alignment with strategy and end user expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project solution architectures, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, and to provide expertise and advice to stakeholders
- Highlighting technology dependencies, issues and risks and mitigating/managing where required
- Participate in architecture forums and community of practice meetings and contribute to the overall enterprise architecture practice.
- Participate in planning, architecture and design meetings to represent interests in supporting re-use and adoption of the latest technologies and solutions;
- Apply a commercial focus on all work to ensure that the desired business outcomes are met;
- Provide input to the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximise the return on technology investment.
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years professional IT experience with at least 5 years as software or solution architect.
- Expert experience working with project managers, business analysts, technical specialists, architects, and vendors to create integrated end-to-end solution options, with a focus on applying architecture standards, principles, and alignment with existing deployment models.
- Ability to work autonomously, navigating through complexity and ambiguity
- Ability to "think big" and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology refresh and hype
- Broad knowledge of technologies and applications utilising Integration Platforms, such as webMethods, WebSphere, TIBCO, JBoss, Azure Logic Apps, AWS Lambda, Dell Boomi, Workato or other open-source frameworks, solutions, and tools.
- Demonstrated experience with large corporate IT operations, major IT programs, systems integration and technical architecture.
- Knowledge and experience in private, public and hybrid cloud models and architecture, including SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and other cloud services, would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of the utilities industry and its regulatory environment (advantageous).
Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related qualification and 10 years of experience in development with a focus on architecture or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
