Our Power team currently has a great opportunity for an experienced Power Generation Engineer to join our friendly and diverse Sydney office.

The key purpose of this position is to provide power project engineering and management support from project identification through to project delivery. Typical activities include client engagement, proposal preparation, management of studies, coordination of design, design reviews, specifications, report writing and calculations.

The Power Generation Engineer will work proactively as part of the broader Power team and contribute to our Future Energy strategy on a variety of projects. This will include supporting colleagues in other GHD offices across the region, with specialists based in all major centres delivering our major projects.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Supporting the Energy Market Leader and Power teams in business development activities with existing and prospective clients.
• Preparation of proposals, quotations and estimates.
• Build and maintain productive internal and external relationships to facilitate the delivery of professional services.
• Carry out technical consulting assignments including feasibility studies, design reviews and due diligence studies.
• Authoring technical reports and preparing deliverables of high technical standard and accuracy.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise in power projects
• Undertake site liaison and inspection activities as required

What You Will Bring To The Team

• A background in an Engineering Consultancy and/or Power Asset Developer, Owner or Contractor is strongly preferred.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering with 6 to 10 years’ recent experience in the field of Power Project Development and Delivery.
• Significant experience and knowledge of renewable and/or thermal power generation technologies and their development in the NEM
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of developing strong client relationships
• Demonstrated experience in delivering projects to client requirements.
• Strong technical and general report writing skills.
• Professional registration is desirable.
