The Opportunity:

Maxima are currently seeking a committed individual, who isn’t afraid of hard work, to undertake a hands-on Apprenticeship in Local Government. This role will see you working full-time over the course of 3 years to successfully obtain a Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations.

Kickstart your career in the civil construction industry and leave a mark on the development of local community infrastructure. Earn while you learn with this rewarding Apprenticeship, gaining practical experience, skills and knowledge to see you through a lasting civil career.


  • Site preparation and excavation
  • Levelling of bases and surface materials
  • Concrete and bitumen works
  • Laying water pipes and drainage structures
  • Installation of safety barriers and traffic management
  • Operate plant machinery and use power tools
  • Manual labouring

About You:

  • Thrive working outdoors
  • Have a can-do attitude, displaying initiative
  • Strong track record of being punctual, reliable and hardworking
  • Physically fit and able to move repetitively
  • Must pass a pre-employment assessment including a drug and alcohol test
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Current P’s or C-class driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
