The Location

There is flexibility for this position to based out of either of HDE’s offices located in Emerald (Queensland 4710) and Rockhampton (Queensland 4700). It is preferable that the candidates live in the Central Queensland Region or be willing to relocate for the position, to commute to work each day.

The Position

HDE’s continued growth and opening of a Rockhampton Office, has created the opportunity for a Mechanical/Structural Design Draftsperson to join our team. The role will involve a wide variety of project types both in size and nature, requiring you to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

The role can entail all, or any part of a project from concept to completion, this could include any of the following activities:

· Site meetings with the client,

· Site data collection, site dimensioning and/or 3D Laser Scanning.

· Detailed design of both Structural and Mechanical equipment.

· Producing Fabrication drawings and detailed arrangements.

· Liaising with clients on design and scope requirements.

· Budget estimates and Tendering Jobs.

· Liaising and working with engineers on complex design tasks

Applicants Requirements:

· Full ability to work within Australia with no restrictions.

· Excellent English communication skills - verbal, written and listening.

· High standard of 3D modelling software literacy (Inventor or Advance Steel Preferred).

· Fast and accurate design skills with high attention to detail.

· Excellent organisational and time management skills.

In Addition, the Applicant should have understanding in some or all of the following areas;

· Experience with site data collection (taking site dimensions for projects).

· Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the application of Australian Standards.

· Ability to work well in a small team environment as well as work autonomously.

· An interest in solving practical and technical problems.

· The ability to work to a high standard while still adhering to strict deadlines.

· Proficient in Microsoft applications.

Experience is required in one or more of the following areas:

· Process plant design.

· Structural detailing and design.

· Piping design.

· Concrete design and detailing.

· Materials handling design.

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:
