One of our valued clients is the largest Diesel Engine manufacturer in the world. They have offices around Australia and there is an upcoming vacancy for a Construction Manager for a current project based at Mandelong in the Newcastle region. This is expected to be a 3 month role with this large international company with the possibility of extension.
Based at Mandelong the hours are 7.00 - 18.00 Monday to Friday and 8.00-13.00 on Saturday. The successful applicant will be required to be at site 30 minutes before for pre-construction activities and 30 minutes after to close the site. The daily workforce is anticipated to be between 6 and 20 people.

- Manage, coordinate and oversee all construction activities on site
- Guide/support client's Project Manager with implementation of all responsibilities for Principal Contractor under legislation applicable at the construction/mine site
- Manage and oversee the site HSE Manager to successfully implement the project safety systems, and ensure minimisation of harm to people and/or the environment
- Maintain the collection and reporting of project site KPIs.
- Compile and maintain combined work schedule for the entire project, monitor and report progress to Project Manager as requested.
- Ensure project completion safely, in accordance with specifications, on-time and within budget.
- Maintenance of the site schedule.
- Supervising staff and sub-contractors
- Dispute resolution skills
You will also need:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Capability for independent thinking and an eye for detail
- Trade qualification (desirable)
- Formal Project Management qualifications (desirable)
- Current Driver's licence
- Construction OHS induction (White Card)
- Level 2 First Aid or equivalent
- Telehandler licence (strongly desirable)
- Able to pass Fitness Medical and Site specific induction
