About The Role

The Macquarie Government Project Services Engineer is part of this and a key member of a highly skilled engineering team committed to the support of a portfolio of Government customers. The customers utilise our Secure Internet Gateway and Cloud Hosting Solutions. This role has the prime technical responsibility for a specific group of customers and is responsible for providing implementation and project engineering, professional services, technical guidance and specialist infrastructure support.

You will be responsible for

• Scheduled onsite visits at our customers premises
• Regular server assessment
• Regular server updates & patching
• Vulnerability scanning analysis and remediation
• Project Services
• Seamless migration services
• System & Network audits
• Network design and implementation
• Network optimisation
• Undertake service validation and testing activities to provide the assurance that infrastructure is robust and implemented in a resilient manner
• Assess business requirements for new opportunities to support the technical consultancy / pre-sales function.
• Review to ensure solution can be implemented and supported
• Undertake service validation and testing activities to provide the assurance that infrastructure is robust and implemented in a resilient manner
• Support transition planning for significant infrastructure changes.

This role can be based in Sydney or Canberra.

About You

You will have proven experience in holding prime technical responsibility for a specific group of customers and thrive within the responsibility for providing implementation and project engineering, professional services, technical guidance and specialist infrastructure support.

Your previous roles will have been within a complex cloud / hosting environment, in which you have demonstrated your networking and security knowledge.

You are familiar with the following technologies

• Firewall, VPN, routing, switching
• Load balancing
• VMware or other virtualization technologies
• RHEL and Windows server
