JOB DESCRIPTION

At Entura, we’re proud to be empowering people and communities with safe, smart renewable energy, by designing world-class sustainable power and water solutions to build a better future. With some of the brightest minds in the industry, we have the expertise, creativity and passion to make lasting change. Which is exactly where you come in. You’ll play a key role in our Dams & Geotech team and will provide professional expertise in dam engineering, including dam design, safety and risk assessment.

What you’ll do
Our main projects include feasibility studies, detailed design, dam safety analysis, dam investigations, and asset management support. Our clients include major water and hydropower utilities across Australia and internationally.

You’ll also support the design and build of a clean energy future Australia wide and internationally through your work for various water, hydropower, pumped hydro, upgrade, and other renewable energy programs and projects.

What you’ll bring
We’re looking for qualified engineers from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels, so if you have 5 or more years of experience in dam design, dam safety and risk assessment we’d love to hear from you.

Your skills and experience may include:

  • Extensive experience in design project work for new dams or dam refurbishment projects
  • Extensive experience in dam safety in a risk-based environment
  • Expertise in various facets of civil engineering related to dams, water and power infrastructure
  • Experience within a commercial or consultancy environment
  • A solid understanding of recognised international dam engineering guidelines, such as ICOLD, Canadian Dam Safety Association, USBR, USACE, and ANCOLD would be beneficial
  • A broad knowledge of computer software packages for engineering design and management
  • Strong communication skills and a natural ability to build strong working relationships
  • A qualification in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering with exposure to Dam infrastructure

What you can expect
If you choose to live in Tasmania, you’ll enjoy the world’s cleanest air, some of the lowest living costs in Australia, short commute times to work, and one of the safest cities in the world. All the while, you’ll build your career and working on major, multi-disciplined, water and power projects.
