Our Opportunity: Council has adopted an exciting four year capital works program and is looking for an enthusiastic, multi-skilled and innovative Team Leader for their Building Projects Team. The role will lead a small team of Project Managers and will oversee the delivery of the entire project portfolio, with a strong focus and passion for sustainable buildings. There will also be a responsibility to drive forward continuous movement in the areas of high quality design and customer experience.

To Be Successful In This Role
  • The candidate will have end-to-end project management skills and possess strong demonstrated experience in Project Management, Architecture, Construction Management or relevant field.
  • Proficient in develop scopes, undertake site assessments, prepare cost estimates/plans, project schedules and assess permit approvals to ensure a project is set up for successful delivery.
  • Hold a passion for sustainable outcomes that are innovative, cost effective, sector leading and influence positive change in the area of sustainable building and project management practices.
  • Demonstrate people management skills and strong interest to motivate teams and empower individuals to strive for successful outcomes.
  • Experience in meeting time frames, cost and quality specifications in accordance with Council's objectives and governance guidelines.
  • Manage the design, delivery and implementation of designated Capital Projects including sports pavilions, child care centres, small buildings renovations an refurbishment and the like.
  • Effectively brief and manage consultants, contractors, stakeholders, community, clients and other project participants throughout the life of the project in a professional and engaged manner from inception to handover.
  • Exercise a passion for sustainable outcomes that meet time, cost and quality specifications in accordance with Council's objectives and governance guidelines.
  • Perform Contract Management and Administration duties in accordance with Councils systems and governance guidelines.
  • Assist with scoping and the preparation of budget estimates for future capital projects.
  • Respond to external and internal technical enquiries within area of expertise and knowledge.
