Our client is looking for a Senior Vehicle Development Engineer to join their team. You will hands-on lead and build electric light vehicles, from conceptualizing and prototyping new designs trough to the detailed engineering and mass-manufacturing of vehicles.
Your new job:
We are looking for a candidate who is preferably experienced with designing of vehicles or bikes, who can take a applied approach but also guide others to accomplish the desired result. This role entails someone who can work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Translate user and business needs into design requirements.
- Ideate, prototype, and assess vehicle concepts.
- Detailed engineering design, manufacture, test and verify of vehicles and vehicle modules.
- Work cross functional and liaise with manufacturing partners and suppliers.
- Apply project planning including time and cost estimate and keep stakeholders informed.
- Apply best development practices such as design reviews, risk analysis and critical thinking.
What you will need to succeed:
- 5-7 years experience as Mechanical Engineer, ideally in the bike or automotive industry.
- Relevant degree (e.g., Mechanical Engineer, Mechatronics or Vehicle Design)
- Experience in designing and integrating mechanical and mechatronics systems.
- Experience with engineering calculations, simulations, and risks analysis skills
- Experiences with regulatory standards and design for compliance
- Basic experience in technical project management
- Computer skills: Extensive hands-on knowledge in CAD software (preferably Solidworks)
- Knowledge of and ability to apply prototyping techniques.
- Understanding of designing for manufacturing processes, especially aluminium tube shaping and welding, machining, and sheet metal fabrication
