The Downer Transport Services Concrete division is highly respected and has a great track record for maintaining a high standard of work for our clients. We need an experienced Excavator Operator to operate plant and machinery accurately and safely to help deliver to various assignments.

About the role:
In this varied role, you will be involved in planning, organising, directing and controlling activities and operations on site on a day to day basis. You will operating machinery for trench digging, concreting, digging out curb lines and backfilling. You will also be comfortable to work with hand tools to support activities such as curb laying, concreting and general labouring when excavation work is on pause.

About you:
You will have plenty of experience operating Excavators (1.5T - 5T) within the civil construction industry. You will have an organised and systematic approach to the work environment and take pride in your work. You will also:

• Hold Class 2 drivers licence with W, T, R endorsements (Class 4, 5 an advantage)
• Have some practical work experience in Carpentry, bridge maintenance, concreting and/ or structures work
• Hold strong planning skills and the ability to deal with unexpected events and problem solve
• Have good verbal and written communication skills
• Be physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
