Automotive Safety Attribute Engineer

Deliver targets and commitments in support of Product Development departmental business objectives. Proactive contribution to the safety attribute team delivering their targets. Provide technical process improvement to vehicle safety team
Support and facilitate the Safety Attribute Supervisor in planning, delivery and co-ordination of a Safety Program, including target setting/cascade, analytical and test planning and confirmation of deliverable and target assessments.
Lead and facilitate Safety Attribute meetings
Co-ordinate documentation of requirements/assessments and deliverables
Co-ordinate Sign Off Engineering Plan
Support target setting & requirements for internal, regulatory and public domain safety performance.
Support content specification: support vehicle content to enable program targets.
Help co-ordinate pre-program reviews for content and target alignment
Test Planning and Support: Liaison with PMTs and development engineers to organize safety test planning at sub system and full vehicle level, support logistics and testing (right parts, right place at the right time; testing to right specification, right quality level and in a timely manner)
Tracking issue status/metrics and confirm documentation for closure.
Lead compliance demonstration plans and reports and Prototype build signoffs
Skills Required:
Have an understanding of the process to set and achieve demanding vehicle attribute targets
Have the ability to clearly, calmly and effectively communicate conclusions drawn from analyses and work closely with the senior safety engineers, the CAE analysis arm of the vehicle safety team and other engineering teams to achieve the program targets
Actively seek out, understand and implement global best practice in target settings, test planning and build signoff.
Be able to critique CAE & physical test results to seek out quality issues/improvements, work with all other engineering teams to understand and resolve safety related design issues and be able to organize and track testing and analysis projects
Be an experienced vehicle safety attribute engineer, having at least 5 years of applied knowledge of structural and occupant protection safety engineering within an automotive application and have a detailed understanding of how to set and achieve the most demanding crash safety targets
Experience Required:
-10+ Years Engineering experience (Vehicle Safety Engineering experience preferred) - Experience in delivery of attribute outcomes in safety analysis
Education Required:
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Aerospace) or equivalent.
