Molycop produces high-quality products with maximum durability, designed to resist wear and deliver exceptional performance to mining assets. These businesses supply direct to mining companies and manufacturing suppliers to the mining industry.

Molycop's twelve grinding media operations are strategically located around the world to service the growing global mining industry, particularly in copper, gold, and iron ore sectors. Molycop’s locations are in Chile, Peru, Mexico, USA, Canada, Indonesia, Spain, and Australia.

The Molycop Australia business employs around 600 staff and wages roles across operations in Waratah, Newcastle and Bassendean, Perth, and competes in the global market with its' world class Rail and Grinding Media products. We are currently seeking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to be based at our Waratah Site to focus on crane integrity. This position will play a crucial role in the safe and reliable operation of our business, with a focus on cranes, crane structures and lifting. This position will work within an experienced team, collaborating with key stakeholders across the Australian Molycop business.

In this role you will oversee the systems which govern crane operation and maintenance, you’ll conduct failure analyses, develop strategies, facilitate audits, and coordinate the selection of external design work, crane maintainers and suppliers. It’s not a design role, you’ll be out in the field working with Molycop cranes, crane maintainers and operators, all whilst being supported by an experienced engineering team.

To be successful in this role you will have tertiary or equivalent education in Mechanical Engineering, as well as a proven capability to:

  • Remain calm and mission focussed in a challenging, high pressure environment
  • Be effective and honest in communications, both on a technical level but also in interacting with other operational and support roles across the Molycop business
  • Engage others for positive change utilising modern safety, operational and engineering practices
