The Company
Our client is a well-established multi-national organisation who are well on their way to becoming a leader within the electronics manufacturing field. Currently enjoying a period of continued growth, they are seeking to appoint an experienced Electronics Engineer to their team. This company is world recognised, with offices located in Australia, United Kingdom and USA.
The Position
A newly created position in Australia, reporting to the Engineering Manager your role will be to contribute towards the development activities of the Hardware Engineering team. You will undertake independent detailed electronic design tasks in collaboration with other members of the team supporting the robust development of new products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design electronic devices that achieve all defined product requirements (including unit cost targets) with consideration for Design for Manufacture / Assembly / Service
- Ensure that development projects follow the defined NPD process and are driven to completion with a sense of urgency
- Respond quickly to quality issues discovered in production or the field
- Explore opportunities to add additional innovative features above and beyond those requested
- Where appropriate, ensure that electronic circuit designs leverage previous designs
- Work with Production Engineers to deploy newly designed products into the production line
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation (e.g., Product User Manuals, Specification Sheets)
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role you will be a degree qualified Electronics Engineer who brings established experience within R&D and NPD projects. Other prerequisites are as follows.
- Experience with modern electronics design, development, prototyping and testing
- Knowledge of embedded Linux and some programming (Python, C/C++)
- Previously undertaken designs of microcontroller electronic and/or power electronic PCBAs
- Experience designing PCBs with Altium Designer and familiarity with FPGAs,
- Sound problem solving skills, solutions focused with well-developed clear communications
