Boeing Defence Australia's Aerospace Engineering & Production Capability provide a range of modification, production, repair and continuing airworthiness services to support Defence's Boeing-managed aircraft fleets and complex communication systems. We work hand-in-hand with our customers to develop and deliver critical capabilities to support their mission now and into the future.

The opportunity

We are seeking a competent, qualified and experienced CH-47F Service Engineering Technical Officer to support and establish a new CH-47F (Chinook) Maintenance and Logistics Support program in Australia.

This role is based at the Army Aviation Centre Oakey, Queensland.

Please note that this position may be required to work day, afternoon or night shift hours during the week. You will also be expected to work reasonable additional hours to ensure the customers operational outcomes are achieved on any given day.


  • Perform defect and incident investigation, reporting, direct and root cause identification and provide recommended corrective actions.
  • Liaise with the customer and maintenance organisation regarding technical issues.
  • Evaluate technical documents.
  • Develop, submit and liaise with Boeing Philadelphia Service Engineering regarding technical requests, as required to support defect investigation and corrective action development.
  • Execute a reliability management process to monitor aircraft and critical systems defects and incidents.
  • Prepare reliability reports and briefs and draft technical instructions and orders.



  • CH-47 Chinook experience, as a qualified technician and maintenance manager.
  • The ability to interpret engineering and technical data.
  • A high level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard MS Office software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.


  • CH-47 F model qualifications and experience.
  • Experience in a Program Support Office like environment.
  • Experience in aircraft sustainment engineering and technical support
  • Prior aviation experience under the DASR or equivalent civil aviation regulations
  • Experience in the use of Computer Aided Design software - CATIA
