The Mimecast SE will be an enthusiastic and energetic technical advisor who is looking for a role that places you at the forefront of new technology and innovation with an established solution set. Technically, you will be well-versed in the nuances of email infrastructure. You will have experience with Microsoft Exchange, and potentially its relevant competitors too. You will understand email protocol, and the infrastructure required to support it.

You must be able to establish & maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle, exude a passion for understanding the technical needs of the customer and articulating the value of Mimecast’s products and solutions in meeting those needs. You must therefore be a confident and experienced communicator who is able to represent Mimecast with impact and professionalism.

  • Pre-Sales Support. Provide technical advice and support to sales opportunities by engaging with technical contacts within customer and partner organizations. Ensure the Mimecast service is positioned correctly, understood by customers and any technical objections are overcome.
  • Technical Qualification Consulting. Provide product demonstrations, presentations to senior customer contacts, Proof of Concepts and writing formal RFP response documents. Work with our sales colleagues by providing input into the qualifications and sales strategies in partnership with sales.
  • Training and Developing Partners. Ensure Mimecast reseller partners are capable of selling and supporting Mimecast services. Train partners and develop close working relationships with various technical staff in the reseller partner organization.
  • Product Feedback . Interface with product management, marketing, business development and training to help ensure Mimecast solutions are meeting the needs of customers and prospects. Provide feedback on product features, functionality, marketing positioning and competitive differentiation.

Detailed Tasks:

  • Position Mimecast’s solutions as business benefit relevant to the audience and/or decision makers (CIO’s, CTO’s, CFO’s, Technical Teams and Sales people)
  • Meaningful and impactful Technical and Product demonstrations
  • Achieve trusted technical advisor status within all customer engagements
  • Identify and mitigate all technical risks associated with Mimecast implementations to improve sales closure ratios and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Build pre-sales competencies within all Mimecast and Channel Partner sales teams
  • Contribute strategically to the evolution and progression of the Sales Engineering Department within Australia
  • Contribute to Sales Engineering best practice knowledge base
  • Contribute to customer acquisition case studies
  • Contribute to product evangelism initiatives
  • Ensure that Mimecast reseller partners are capable of selling and supporting Mimecast services
  • Developing close working relationships with technical staff in the reseller partner organisation
  • Technical assistance with more complex existing customer environments
  • Oversee the implementation and integration of Mimecast’s services from a connect and project management perspective
  • Maximise feature utilisation by client education and analysis
  • Demonstrated track record of developing technical sales opportunities through to implementation
  • Solid sales enablement experience including technical demonstrations and presentations to customers;
  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in a similar role
  • Ability to develop content and present technical concepts in an engaging manner to a variety of audiences; small to large, technical to non-technical.
  • Proven record of taking ownership of real customer issues and resolving them under pressure
  • Ability to work with and gain input utilizing resources from multiple teams and disciplines
  • Experience in dealing with customers within a pre-sales environment
  • Experience in consultative selling of complex services
  • Industry specific knowledge of security, email infrastructure, email security and cloud-computing;
  • Well-versed in Microsoft-based infrastructures;
  • Well-versed in security landscape;
  • Experience with the design, management and maintenance of typical business email systems, including Microsoft Exchange (ideal), Office 365 (preferably) and Google G-Suite (optional)
  • Extensive understanding of email archiving solutions and archiving business drivers
  • Understanding of spam, viruses, email security and Internet based threats as well as networking and security technologies and services
  • Proactive with the ability to manage risks, priorities and expectations in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible approach and willingness to learn new skills and disciplines • Demonstrable commercial acumen
